1 Corinthians 13:3-10 (NKJV)
This scripture seem to define what love is and I am inclined to believe that this is the gold standard of what love is.
By this I mean how love should be viewed by all. Let us pay closer attention to the details of the scripture; What is Love? An entity that should be indwelling every human. 1 John 4:7-13 tells us that God is love and He has put in us His very nature which is Love. True love which is the hallmark of anyone born of God. There are certain unique characteristics of this love. firstly it is pure, undefiled and resident at all times in us.
This love is patient and kind: what else can be compared to these qualities? I wonder. If we all had love that is patient and kind, one could only imagine the low divorce rates and the massive reduction in the levels of crime hatred and wars in our world today?
Such kind of love never gives up, cares more for others than themselves (selfless) and not covetous. Our very lives depend on this entity called love.
Love bears all things.
Love believes and hopes in all things.
Love never fails because it lasts forever.
Perfect love casts out fear, how true indeed. bearing in mind the qualities little wonder why perfect love casts out fear.
