I have always been fascinated by the mind; but when the scriptures also ask the above question then my imagination even becomes more curious. where is the mind anatomically situated in the body; physiologically how does it function, concretely where exactly is it. Why is it that even the greatest palm reader; or psychic could not access a man’s mind except there is cooperation from the subject. It is truly great that we have the power to allow or stop any thing into our minds. The mind may not be tangible however it exists and it is the window to the true self (man). Theologians and Philosophers have varied and inconclusive evidence to support it’s existence. Which is a great thing in itself. You and I know that that bit of a human called the mind is the seat of intellect and it’s soundness determines how mentally stable we are.
I get excited when I think of the fact that we were made after the true likeness of a creator with a Great mind.
Your choices speaks loads to others in the society as to what may be taking place in your mind. I have always known that our senses are windows to this unique entity called the ‘mind’ and that the most senses that you predominantly operate with determines where you are most operational. Thoughts-cognitively; feelings-emotive predominantly; auditory or kinesthetic or there is total chaos and you do not have a predetermined mode of operation. I shall liken the latter group to the tumbleweed mind. Anything goes, there is no filtering, redefinition and no characterization of all the information entering the mind.
Over the next weeks think which group do I belong? How can I do this you may ask? Just by pausing to question your actions, thoughts and feelings. It could be a painful exercise but extremely useful in enabling you to know yourself better.
Self discovery is the first step in self actualization.
